It takes a village - no, an island - to create the pieces you end up buying and loving forever. Our limited-edition partywear offering is no exception. We sat down with our womenswear fashion designer Jade, to learn all about her inspiration behind the collection, the trends to know and more.

Tell us about this year’s limited-edition party edit.

This is ultimate girl-power collection, so whatever room you walk into, you’re guaranteed to be the showstopper. Expect iconic dresses, coordinated moments with trophy jackets, and daring hotpants.

What are your top two pieces from the collection?

I'm obsessed with our embellished velvet co-ord. I love items that you can dress up and down. I could pop to the office wearing the jacket and then swap my jeans for the matching hotpants, and I'm ready for girls' night - from latte to late night!

No matter what, you always, always, always need a LBD in your wardrobe, and I love the refreshing twist we have given ours this year with the studding and edgy tassels. We have carefully placed the embellished elements so it really emphasizes and flatters all body shapes and sizes. The LBD contoured effect.

What makes this range different?

There is no comparison to RI when it comes to Partywear on the Highstreet, the elevation of the fabric choices, the attention to detail, trending silhouettes; we give a high-end boutique feel. The collections get stronger and stronger every year. That’s the most exciting part of the job, the opportunity to do something new for our customers. She comes to us for luxury and to be the best dressed in the room.

What was your main inspiration behind creating this collection?

I wanted to create something legendary – to give the customer something they want before they even realise they want it. I wanted it to feel fun but, at the same time, a little raw, rebellious, and rough around the edges. Most importantly every single item we design we want them to be forever keepsakes, truly one-of-a-kind appeal.

Let’s dive into the fabrics and details...

I have a deep-rooted love for archives, vintage, and Hollywood glamour, which inspired the fabrics for this edit: large disc sequins in the chicest sultry jewelled ombre tones, decorated placement embellishments on luxurious velvet, fringing, and sexy studwork.

What recent influences have sparked your creativity?

I’ve been hugely inspired lately by watching the Vogue documentary about the ‘90s – the decade that turned the fashion industry upside down. For me, it was so exciting to revisit the blend of film, music, and fashion. I’m equally obsessed with the hyper-glam ‘80s looks portrayed in the TV show Joan! I love how alive London was in both these eras: glamorous yet gritty.
